German BfS denied link between the coronavirus and 5G technology

German Federal Office of Radiation Protection (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz: BfS) published a statement denying link between the coronavirus and 5G technology.

The statement mentioned as follows:
"  BfS rejects reports of a connection between the spread of the Corona virus and the new 5G mobile phone generation. There is no scientific evidence that cellular radiation could have an effect on the spread of viruses. This also applies to 5G.
　There have been several rumors circulating in the past few weeks related to the Corona virus and 5G. Among other things, this includes that cell phone radiation generally promotes the spread of the virus. Elsewhere, information appeared that 5G suppresses the immune system. Speculations were already circulating at the end of January that 5G caused cell breakdown, which mimicked the effects of a virus, and led to flu-like symptoms.
　From a scientific point of view, all speculations have no basis. There is no corresponding evidence in biology or physics: 5G does not cause cell breakdown or flu-like symptoms. A negative effect of high-frequency electromagnetic fields - and thus also cell phone radiation - on the immune system has not yet been scientifically proven.
　The frequency range previously used for mobile communications has been very well researched. The BfS has investigated possible health risks and the basic biological effects and mechanisms of the high-frequency electromagnetic fields used in mobile communications in the German Cellular Research Program ( DMF ) and in subsequent studies. The results of the DMF and other current national and international studies have not confirmed the harmful effects of high-frequency electromagnetic fields below the limit values.
　Since 5G is initially used in frequency bands in which mobile communications are already in use today, which are assigned for comparable uses or which are adjacent to such frequency bands, the findings can be transferred to 5G.
　The only proven effect of high-frequency electromagnetic fields is heating of the body tissue. However, an increase in the core body temperature by less than one degree is considered to be unproblematic in terms of health. The applicable limit values ensure that this warming remains low and therefore harmless."
