The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the cancer agency of the World Health Organization, revised its website "IARC Monographs on the Identification of Carcinogenic Hazards to Humans" on September 27, 2021.

This revision is to notify the publication of the full paper (online version) of "Monographs Volume 126: Opium consumption".
https://monographs.iarc.who.int/news-events/volume-126-opium-consumption-2/

In the Monographs, opium (an addictive narcotic drug produced from the poppy plant, Papaver somniferum, and can be consumed as a variety of preparations, either by smoking or by ingestion) were classified as "Group 1: carcinogenic to humans". Opium derivatives (e.g. opiates such as morphine and heroin) and opioids (e.g. fentanyl) were not considered by the Working Group.

* Note from JEIC:
The latest volume of the IARC Monographs is "Vol.129: Some aromatic amines and related compounds".
And there is no change in the carcinogenic hazard categories for EMFs.
