NIEHS has released Draft NTP Technical Reports on cell phone radiofrequency

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) has released its two draft reports on the cancer risks associated with exposure to cell phone radiofrequency radiation (RFR: GSM and CDMA). These are the results of its two-year exposure studies of mice and rats.

Conclusion: Carcinogenic activity of GSM-modulated cell phone RFR at 900 MHz: there was some evidence in male rats; no evidence of in female rats. Carcinogenic activity of CDMA-modulated cell phone RFR at 900 MHz: there was some evidence in male rats; equivocal evidence in female rats. Carcinogenic activity of GSM-modulated cell phone RFR at 1900 MHz: there was equivocal evidence in male rats; equivocal evidence of in female rats. Carcinogenic activity of CDMA-modulated cell phone RFR at 1900 MHz: there was equivocal evidence in male rats; equivocal evidence in female rats.

The reports will be the subject of an open peer meeting on 26-28 March 2018 at the NIEHS offices in North Carolina. The peer review meeting is open to public participation in person (maximum 100 persons) and via webcast. Registration is requested for either form of participation.
