French National Frequency Agency (Agence nationale des fréquences: ANFR) organized International Technical Workshop on 5G and EMF exposure for Administrations

19 June, 2019.

On 17 April 2019, French National Frequency Agency (Agence nationale des fréquences: ANFR) organized a conference on 5G and public exposure to electromagnetic Fields at Maisons-Alfort. Intended for administrations, this one-day symposium brought together 45 participants from 12 countries (Germany, Belgium, South Korea, Spain, France, Finland, Norway, Japan, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland) and of 2 international organizations WHO and ICNIRP.
In general, the discussions showed that the subject of public exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) remains very significant in many countries. The arrival of 5G raises many questions, particularly on the possible need to revise certain national regulations, on the update of the in situ EMF measurement protocol, on the definition of compliance boundaries for 5G base stations and on numerical simulation methods of exposure. The exchanges were very intense and of excellent quality around these 4 majorthemes.
